Chances are, a good pair of jeans, black trousers, a black dress, a classic leather jacket, a white shirt are already present in your winter wardrobe. Here are 4 clothing items which you can add to your closet which pretty much match with a lot of pieces, but have a little bit of a twist.
-
Dark denim flares
My favourite pair of trousers: flattering and can turn any outfit into instant style! May be worn with virtually any kind of top, blouse or shirt.
-
A fur gilet
These look so dressy and really make you put together! Fur gilets look lovely over dresses, paired with shirts, blouses, or top to toe monochrome such as black. The longer types are more flattering for curvier shapes and are easier to pull off.
-
Wax coated jeans or leather trousers
The moment you put on one of these you look like you spent hours getting ready when all it took was minutes! Add darker colours such as black, dark blue, or wine to your winter wardrobe.
-
A hat
Hats suit everyone, you just need to find the shape that fits you. Besides helping you look super-stylish, a hat gets extra points for turning a bad hair day into a sophisticated mama day…
-
OTK boots
Over the knee boots are so in, and super flattering if worn in the right way. It takes an almost perfect body to pull off a tighter dress or skirt and these boots (and you might still end up looking tarty might i add…), but if worn over jeans or trousers or a looser more casual dress they look fantastic! If you want to play safe buy a pair of darker coloured ones and wear with dark, similar or same coloured trousers. Play with textures: wear suede boots with fabric or leather trousers, or wear leather boots with velvet or fabric trousers. Buy a pair with a more casual and comfy block heel to take away from the sexiness of the thigh high length.
Enjoy playing around with these 5 pieces – they will make a great addition to your winter wardrobe!
